Pastor J. Phillip Betts is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Christian Community Church. In 1991 Pastor Betts began a small bible study fellowship at the Holiday Inn in Oxford, NC. Under the divine leading of the Holy Ghost, Word of Hope Ministry was birthed forth from this dynamic bible study.

In 1992 in Oxford, NC. Through a vision to impact the community and the world at large, God inspired Pastor Betts to move forward with an aggressive plan to expand the ministry.

In 1995 Cornerstone held services at its new facility presently located on Knotts Grove Road in Oxford, NC. God has mandated Cornerstone to be a non-denominational ministry focused on spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ internationally through a strategic vision plan. As a ‘family friendly church” Cornerstone has over 30 ministries to meet the needs of the local community and the international community through strategic ministry alliances. Cornerstone serves as a multi-ethnic church that provides relevant, biblical solutions that empower people to live victoriously through Christ.
